You will set up and operate audio and video equipment including microphones, sound speakers, video screes, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connectinf wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment for concerts, sporting events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences. You may also set up and operate associated spotlights and other custom lighting systems.
You will design and build data communication networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and Intranets. These networks range from small connections between two offices to next-generation networking capabilities such as a cloud infrastructure that serves multiple customers.
You will set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to transmit radio and television programs. You will control audio equipment to regulate volume level and quality of sound during radio and television broadcasts. You may also operate radio transmitters to broadcoast radio and television programs.
You will operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more functions on metal or plastic work pieces.
You will apply theory and principles of environmental engineering to modify, test, and perate equipment and devices used in the prevention, control and remediation of environmental pollution, including waste treatment and site remediation. You may assist in the development of environmental pollution remediation devices unver the direction of an engineer.
You will apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. You may study and record the time, motion, method, and speed involved in the performance of production, maintenance, clerical, and other worker operations for such purposes as establishing standard production rates or improving efficiency.
You will perform engineering duting in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. You will oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
You will research and study the structures and chemical properties of various natural and manmade materials, including metals, alloys, rubber, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, and glass. You will determine ways to strengthen or combine materials or develop new materials with new or specific properties for use in a variety of products and applications.
